Yes indeed, you can erase those scars. Scars are a constant reminder of past injuries, either small or big. They are a constant reminder of unpleasant events that we encountered in the past.
Scars may not necessarily be physical, they can be psychological. This category are the ones that cannot be easily erased, but they have to be erased.
Scars should not be part of the visible signatures we have to carry through life. Some can be constant reminders of a life of abuse and torture, either in our childhood or as adults.
Even when you think you have attained a state of maturity, poised to handle the affairs of your life, the scars appear as a constant reminder to puncture your balloon of strength or space suit.
How can we erase these scars? It is possible through the help of the Holy Spirit.
When you come to the LORD Jesus in surrender, He will do a new thing that will make you forget the pains (scars of the past). “Do not remember the former things…” Isaiah 43:18. (NKJV).
He is the Balm of Gilead that helps to soothe every pain. This balm is that of peace and comfort that radiates into our inner man and strengthens us from within to erase the scars.
There is also the psychological scar of regrets. This is a constant reminder of the “supposed” errors we assume to have committed in the past. This scar continues to haunt us preventing us from forging ahead.
It comes as a heavy weight that overwhelms us on a daily basis. This is not good enough. We can no longer accommodate these thoughts.
They should not be given a comfortable position in our lives. They are illegal tenants that must be served the eviction notice.
